The Inauguration of the Diploma in English Programme

Thalawa / Killinochchi Centers.

Expanding the courses, the National Institute of Social Development introduced an English Diploma course. These courses are being implemented at the regional centers of the National Institute of Social Development at the request of the Samurdhi Development Department in order to expand the access to employment of the members of low-income Samurdhi beneficiary families and to develop language knowledge.

Its inauguration ceremony was held on July 5, 2024, centered on Thalawa and Kilinochchi centers under the leadership of the Minister of State for Social Empowerment, Hon. Anupa Pasqual, under the leadership of the Director General of the National Social Development Institute, Dr. Ravindra Withanachchi, officials of Samurdhi Development Department, distinguished guests, parents and students. It was held in a grand manner with the participation of a large number of people.
