
Awareness Program for Low-Income Families. (Katana)
The Centre for Gender Studies (CDG) of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) successfully conducted an awareness programme at the Katana Divisional Secretariat on 17 September 2025, targeting low-income and government-aided families. The programme was delivered by Ms. Chamari Thabrew, Lecturer, with the primary objectives of improving psychosocial wellbeing and minimizing gender-related issues within families. Through interactive lectures and guided discussions, participants were equipped with essential knowledge and practical tools to foster healthier family relationships and promote a more equitable home environment. The programme recorded the active participation of 100 families, demonstrating strong community engagement and a growing interest in addressing gender equity and psychosocial development at the household level.
