CGS Webinar Series on “Gender & Law: Rights and Realities”

The CGS Webinar Series on “Gender & Law: Rights and Realities” was successfully conducted on Friday, 23rd May 2025, from 7.30 PM to 9.30 PM via Zoom. The webinar attracted around 75 participants, including students, social work undergraduates, legal professionals, and gender equality advocates, demonstrating strong interest in legal awareness and gender justice. The session was facilitated by Ms. Namini Panditha, LLB, LLM, MHR, Attorney-at-Law and Founder of the Liberal Youth Movement. She provided an engaging and insightful discussion on gender rights, legal frameworks, and the real-life challenges faced in accessing justice, highlighting the importance of legal literacy in achieving true equality. Participants actively engaged throughout the session through discussions and questions, making the program highly interactive and informative. The webinar successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of gender and law while encouraging critical thinking and advocacy. E-certificates were provided to all participants, and overall, the program was impactful, well-organized, and widely appreciated, marking another successful initiative by the Centre for Gender Studies (CGS).
