Gender Awareness Programme for 2024/25 Student Intake Centre for Gender Studies – NISD
The Centre for Gender Studies (CDG) of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) successfully conducted a Gender Awareness Programme for newly recruited students of the 2024/25 academic year on 22 July 2025. The programme was designed to strengthen the institute’s commitment to addressing gender-related issues within the higher education environment and to foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and equality among students. The key objectives of the programme were to establish gender sensitivity among students and to enhance their knowledge and understanding of gender concepts and issues relevant to academic and social settings. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and awareness-based learning activities, students were encouraged to reflect on gender roles, stereotypes, and power relations, while recognizing their responsibility in promoting a safe and supportive campus culture. By equipping students with essential knowledge and awareness at the beginning of their academic journey, the programme laid a strong foundation for positive attitudes, respectful interactions, and ethical conduct within the university community. This initiative contributes to creating an inclusive learning environment where diversity is respected and gender equity is actively promoted.
