Mrs. K. Chamari Kumari De Thabrew

Kaludura Chamari Kumari De Thabrew is an experienced academic with a diverse background in Social Work, Sociology, Social Development, Buddhist Studies and Counseling. She has earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a merit pass from the National Institute of Social Development (NISD), a Master of Buddhist Studies with a merit pass from the University of Colombo and a Master of Sociology with a merit pass from the University of Kelaniya. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling with a Distinction pass from the University of Colombo and a  Bachelor of Arts (BA) Special Honors Degree with 2nd Upper Class Division in Sociology from the University of Colombo. Her academic career began in 2014, when she was appointed as a Research Assistant at the Social Development Policy, Research, and Publications Division at NISD. Currently, she serves as a Lecturer at the Department of Social Work at NISD and the Director of the Center for Gender Studies. She is also the Secretary of the Ethical Clearance Board. With a passion for research and teaching, she has authored and edited several research articles in local journals and presented papers at both international and local conferences. She is committed to developing new skills and adopting an active, dynamic approach to her work in academia. Her strengths include effective teamwork, excellent communication, and an organized, methodical approach to all tasks.
