Orientation Programme – Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) 2024/2025 Intake

The orientation programme for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) 2024/2025 intake was successfully held on the 22nd of July 2025 at the premises of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD). This significant event marked the beginning of an academic journey for newly enrolled students across all three mediums of instruction: Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
The orientation programme extended over five days, offering a comprehensive introduction to the institute’s academic environment, course structure, fieldwork components, and student support services. It also served as a platform to familiarize students with the values, ethics, and professional expectations embedded in social work education.
Academic staff members, administrative personnel, and senior students warmly welcomed the new cohort, emphasizing the importance of commitment, compassion, and critical thinking in their academic and professional growth.
