Workshop on Developing Academic Profiles of Academic Staff

The Web Development Committee of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) organized a Workshop on Developing the Academic Profiles of Academic Staff, held on 17th October 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the NISD Conference Room, under the chairmanship of the Director General.
The workshop aimed to:
• Explore effective ways for academic staff to maintain and enhance their academic profiles
• Provide guidance on publishing research in indexed journals
• Discuss strategies for preparing successful research grant proposals
• Gain insights from the academic journey of a distinguished university scholar
The session was conducted by Professor Nayana Gunathilaka of the University of Kelaniya, one of the youngest professors in Sri Lankan academia and recognized among the top 2% of scientists in the world.
All academic staff members actively participated in the workshop, engaging in insightful discussions and gaining valuable knowledge to strengthen their academic and research capacities.
