The Undergraduate Conference is an annual event that brings together researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders to discuss sustainable rural development, social security, and community empowerment. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, innovative solutions, and collaborative efforts to build resilient and inclusive rural communities. Through meaningful dialogue and shared insights, the conference aims to drive positive change and inspire future leaders in the field.

Objective of the Conference-2025

To explore the integration of social work practices in promoting sustainable growth and resilience in rural communities, focusing on rural development, social security, and community empowerment to address the unique challenges faced by these populations.

  • The focus will be on adapting social protection, healthcare, and financial safety nets to meet the needs of rural populations, reducing vulnerability and improving well-being.
  • The conference will emphasize community-driven development, highlighting capacity-building, local leadership, and participatory approaches to empower rural populations to take charge of their own progress.
  • Discussions will focus on ensuring gender equality and social inclusion in rural development, with attention to policies that create opportunities for women, youth, and marginalized groups.

A guide for submission of abstracts

Title:Title should not be exceeded 20 words
Abstract:The abstract should not exceed 300 words. Structured abstracts with the Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results and Conclusions.
Language:Abstracts must be clear, concise and grammatically correct. Spellings should conform to concise dictionary.
Font:Sinhala: Iskolapotha, Tamil: Bamini, English: Times New Roman
Outline:Abstract should be typed on standard-sized paper (A4) (8.5" x 11") with 1"margins on all sides.
Font Size:Font size - 12
Line spacing - 1.5
Evaluation System:All the abstracts and full papers will be reviewed by a panel of evaluators.
