Workshop on Effective Field Supervision for Social Work Practice

The Workshop on Effective Field Supervision for Social Work Practice, organized by the Field Work Unit of the School of Social Work, National Institute of Social Development (NISD), was successfully conducted on 18th March 2026 at the NISD Conference Hall. The workshop was held in conjunction with World Social Work Day and was conducted under the patronage of Professor Stephen Lund from the University of Western Australia.

The session brought together both faculty members and field supervisors, providing a valuable platform to enhance knowledge, skills, and best practices related to field supervision in social work. Conducted in hybrid mode, the workshop enabled active participation from attendees both physically and virtually, ensuring wider engagement and inclusivity. Professor Lund shared his expertise on effective supervision techniques, emphasizing the importance of reflective practice, professional guidance, and the role of supervision in ensuring quality social work education and practice. The workshop also facilitated interactive discussions, allowing participants to exchange experiences, address challenges, and explore strategies to strengthen field education.

This successful workshop highlighted NISD’s continued commitment to improving the quality of field supervision and fostering professional development among social work educators and practitioners.
