Gender – Beyond Boundaries 2025 program
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the “Gender – Beyond Boundaries 2025” program, conducted by the Center for Gender Studies at the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) on 28.03.2025. This dynamic and thought-provoking initiative aimed to explore the complexities of gender roles and stereotypes, emphasizing the need to challenge norms and foster a more inclusive and equitable society. The program featured an esteemed panel of experts Professor Seetha Bandara (Gender and Economics), Dr. Manoji Harischandra (Gender and Social Issues), Ms. Namini Panditha (Gender and Law), Ms. Bhoomi Harendran (Gender and LGBTQ+) and Mr. V. Jeyaruban (Gender and Social Work). Through engaging discussions and an interactive Q&A session, participants gained valuable insights into how gender influences different aspects of life, community, and society. This program represents a significant step toward NISD’s mission to promote gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senior Professor Wasantha Subasinghe, Director General of NISD, for her invaluable guidance and support in making this initiative a success. As the Director of the Center for Gender Studies, I look forward to organizing similar programs in the future to continue advancing meaningful change. Together, let’s continue empowering meaningful change.
