ABOUT US

In accordance with the Manual of Procedures for the Conduct of Examinations of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD), any candidate who violates the requirements or conditions stipulated in the Examination Rules shall be deemed to have committed an examination offence. In such instances, the Director General shall appoint an Examination Disciplinary Committee to investigate the matter and make recommendations, including the imposition of appropriate penalties or disciplinary actions.

OBJECTIVES

  • To ensure the integrity, fairness, and credibility of examinations conducted by the National Institute of Social Development (NISD).
  • To investigate alleged examination offences and misconduct committed by candidates during examinations.
  • To ensure that examination rules, regulations, and procedures are properly enforced.
  • To provide candidates with a fair and impartial inquiry process in relation to alleged examination offences.
  • To recommend appropriate disciplinary actions or penalties in accordance with the Manual of Procedures for the Conduct of Examinations of NISD.
  • To safeguard the standards and reputation of the academic and examination system of NISD.
  • To promote discipline, ethical conduct, and compliance with examination regulations among students.
  • To maintain transparency, confidentiality, and accountability throughout the disciplinary process.

FUNCTIONS

  • To receive and review reports of alleged examination offences submitted by invigilators, supervisors, or relevant authorities.
  • To conduct inquiries into suspected examination misconduct in accordance with the Manual of Procedures for the Conduct of Examinations of NISD.
  • To examine evidence and statements related to examination offences in a fair and impartial manner.
  • To provide an opportunity for the candidate(s) concerned to present their explanation or defence.
  • To determine whether an examination offence has been committed based on the available evidence.
  • To recommend appropriate disciplinary actions or penalties in accordance with the decisions of the Committee.
  • To ensure that all procedures are carried out in accordance with principles of natural justice and institutional regulations.
  • To maintain confidentiality throughout the disciplinary proceedings.
  • To submit a formal report with findings and recommendations after completing each investigation to the Academic Affairs Board for final decisions.
