Commencement of 2025 at NISD
The National Institute of Social Development (NISD) ceremonially welcomed the New Year on January 1, 2025, with a meaningful program that embodied commitment and aspirations for the year ahead.
The event commenced at 8:30 a.m. with the raising of the National Flag, the singing of the National Anthem, and the recitation of the Government Servant Pledge.
The program also featured the inaugural ceremony of the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative, a nationwide project launched by the government. NISD reaffirmed its commitment to supporting this initiative, aligning with its core mission of social responsibility and community development.
Director General Dr. Raveendra Withanachchi delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the institute’s significant achievements in 2024 and outlining its ambitious goals and targets for 2025. His address motivated staff members to strive for excellence in social development education, research, and practice.
Additional Director General, division directors, and sectional heads also delivered heartfelt speeches representing their respective departments, warmly welcoming the New Year and setting a collaborative tone for the months ahead. The entire staff came together in unity and enthusiasm to celebrate the beginning of 2025, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing NISD’s mission.
