Motivational Empowerment Discussion for International Women’s Day 2025
The National Institute of Social Development (NISD) Center for Gender Studies, in collaboration with the Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED), successfully conducted a Motivational Empowerment Discussion on March 9, 2025, as part of RED’s International Women’s Day program. This inspiring event brought together 20 students from NISD and women workers from across Sri Lanka, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue on leadership, empowerment, and self-confidence. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions that highlighted the challenges and achievements of women in different sectors, particularly those working in free trade zones. The session also offered valuable insights into building confidence, enhancing leadership skills, and advocating for equal opportunities and rights for women. The program’s broader agenda included a silent march and a gathering at Dilshan Hall in Kovinna, further enriching the day’s events. Through this initiative, NISD and RED strengthened their commitment to community engagement and gender equality, fostering connections between students and local women while celebrating women’s contributions to society. This event marks a significant step in empowering women and promoting gender equity, and we thank all participants for their enthusiastic involvement.
