Aims and Objectives
The Students Journal aims to create a platform to accessing knowledge on Social Work Education and Research. It is encouraging the students who are reading the Diploma in Social Work, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW). This is new arena for dissemination of the students’ research findings in the field of Social Work.

Scope
The scope of the journal covers a wide range of topics relevant to social work theory, practice, research, and policy, reflecting the diverse interests and passions of social work students. From innovative intervention strategies to critical analyses of social welfare policies, the Student Journal of Social Work strives to showcase the intellectual curiosity and dedication of students in addressing pressing social issues.
Publication Frequency
The Students Journal is an annual publication and its articles will be published in three languages (Sinhala/ Tamil / English). The experts in the field of Social Work and Social Development include for the Review Panel and they will select and review the Research Articles using appropriate guidelines. All rights are reserved by NISD for the publishing the Students Journal. The Students Journal is basically opened to Social Work Education which combines the modern social issues and it is encouraging scholarly manuscripts that address new developments in Social Work. The Students Journal gives preference to manuscripts with novel findings. (Research Papers already published elsewhere or under consideration elsewhere shall not be submitted).
Peer Review Process
The manuscripts submitted to the SJSW will initially be pre-screened by the Editorial Board members, and if necessary, will be referred to two specialists in the relevant field. The two reviewers are experts in the relevant discipline.
If there is a disagreement between the reviewers, the manuscript would be sent to a third reviewer.
The final decision regarding the Acceptance/Rejection will be made by the Review Panel based on the comment made by the referees.
